Creeds and Confessions
The creeds and confessions of historic Christianity are important for several reasons. The are a testament to the scholarly and dedicated work of Christians as of the refutation of various heresies that have confronted the Church through the centuries. While the Confessions and Creeds should not be considered Inspired to the extent of Holy Scriptures they are useful for the instruction of christians with regards to the formulation of their faith.
They are also part of the Systematic Theology of the Church. They, relying upon the Scriptures, have helped us define our Christology, Soteriology, Ecclesiology: in short they are an explanation of the doctrines contained in Sacred Scriptures.
